As a lover of all things mushrooms, I NEEDED to make a cute lil mushroom that could be used in all kinds of different ways. Your cute lil plush needs something equally as cute to hold? Mushroom! Your friend wants a cottagecore themed garland in their room? Mushrooms! You want a cute little cheap plush that works up in minutes & can be sold for cheap at markets? Mushrooms!! Let me show you the magic below...

This is a US abbreviated pattern.
Abbreviations used in this pattern:
MR: Magic Ring
FLO: Front Loop Only (so you'll only crochet in the loop closest to you, in each stitch!)
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single Crochet
St: Stitch
Inc: Increase
Materials
Yarn: Any yarn in two colours! I usually use Marvel Seasons 8ply Yarn from Spotlight, but I've also made a lot of these using thicker chenille yarn, like Premier Yarn's Premier Parfait Chunky Yarn!
Crochet Hook: Choose the size that's recommended for your yarn choice! My favourite brand currently is the Clover crochet hooks - they're seriously a dream to work with.
Scissors & a yarn needle: The yarn needle is only necessary if you plan on embroidering on extra details, e.g. the white spots on the red mushroom!
Let's begin!
Mushroom Cap | Using Colour A
R1. Sc 6 into MR (6)
R2. Inc in each st (12)
R3. (sc, inc)*6 (18) R4. (2sc, inc)*6 (24)
R5. Sc in each st (24)
R6. (3sc, inc)*6 (30)
R7. (4sc, inc)*6 (36)
Fasten off & cut the tail, leaving a tail long enough to weave-in/hide later.
Mushrooms Stem | Using Colour B
R1. Sc 8 into MR (8)
R2. (sc, inc)*4 (12)
R3-7. Sc in each st (12) - 5 rounds total
R8. FLO: Inc in each st (24)
R9. (3sc, inc)*6 (30)
R10. (4sc, inc)*6 (36)
Now we'll be lining up the two pieces & using our Colour A to single crochet them together! Line the cap & the stem up, so the stitches are in-line with each other. Then insert your hook through a stitch of the stem & a stitch of the cap, and pull the yarn tail all of the way through. Tie a knot around the stitches to secure the two pieces together.
Then, insert your hook into the same stitches & yarn over, pull through & finish the sc. Continue single crocheting all of the way around until you have about 6 stitches left.
Now stuff the lil guy! Don't stuff too much, just enough to shape it.
Then, finish off the last few single crochets of the round, and follow up by doing one last full round of single crochets. Now fasten off & weave in the tail. You're all done! Now you can embroider spots on your mush if you'd like, or leave it as is - the world is your oyster (mushroom)! Hehe
And now you're all finished!!
Thank you for using my pattern - if you use it, please show me, I'd love to see it!
